Two-Way SMS Messaging With a Custom Phone Number
In certain countries, CleanCloud allows you to obtain a custom phone number for two-way SMS messaging. This enables customers to reply directly to order updates and notifications, improving engagement and making communication more seamless. It’s especially useful for confirming repeat pickups via SMS.
Key Notes
Dedicated Use: The phone number provided is exclusively for CleanCloud. It cannot be linked to existing numbers, devices, or external platforms.
Number Availability: Specific numbers cannot be requested. Numbers are assigned based on current availability.
One-Way Messaging: Without a custom phone number, you can still send SMS messages (availability varies by country), but customers will not be able to reply.
Messaging Protocols: CleanCloud supports SMS only. Rich Communication Services (RCS) is not currently supported.

Your custom number will typically be linked to your account within 7 days.
For US numbers, allow 2–3 weeks due to 10DLC registration requirements.US-Specific Requirements
US customers can request a preferred area code (for example, 305). If it’s unavailable, an alternative will be assigned.
Accessing SMS Messages
1. CleanCloud Inbox
Customer replies appear in the Inbox on the New Order page (messaging icon). Use filters to view SMS-only messages.

2. Customer CRM → Messages Tab
Open a customer profile and navigate to the Messages tab to view all SMS conversations linked to that customer. This provides a centralized view of communication history.

To avoid missing customer messages:
Go to Settings → Admin → Notifications → General Settings → Show New Message Notifications.
Select the station responsible for handling SMS messages (for example, Station 1).
Set how long notifications remain visible. We recommend Until Dismissed to ensure messages are acknowledged.

If a Custom Sender ID is enabled, it will block two-way messaging and allow outbound SMS only. To fix this:
Go to Settings → Admin → Notifications → SMS → Custom Sender ID/Name
Remove the Custom Sender ID
